JRW & Associates loses 1-0 Squeaker to Fisher Group in Playoff

Casper Park, Chippewa Falls, WI ... At the International Softball Congress
II Tournament of Champions, JRW & Associates lost a tough one, a 1-0
squeaker to Fisher Group of Mankato, MN Wed evening in their first game of a
24 team single-elimination playoff.

JRW pitcher Matt Barnes and Fisher Group's Troy Glaubitz locked up in a
classic pitcher's duel. Although each pitcher only struck out 3 batters, all
10 hits in the game were singles. Neither pitcher gave up a walk.
In the T4, Fisher Group LF Bret Rabenhorst singled, stole 2B, advanced to
third on a WP and scored on a perfect suicide squeeze by 1B Brian Swanson
for the lone run of the game.

Six different JRW batters had one hit each. Two JRW runners reached second,
while a third runner reached 3B. He was thrown out at the plate when catcher
Chad Ostermann quickly recovered his passed ball and relayed it to Glaubitz
for the tag.

JRW pitcher Dave Drotzmann entered the game in the T5 after JRW pitcher
Barnes was struck by a batted ball.
In the T6, JRW SS Paul Reyes and 2B Kasey Knight both singled with two outs.
Brian Sowers relieved for Fisher Group and got 3B Dean Waltier to pop out to
the catcher. In the B7, Sowers retired the side with two strikeouts and a
groundout.

JRW finished 18th out of 38 teams.

On Friday in the NAFA Class AA World Series in Mankato, MN, JRW will play
the winner of an opening round game between the Boise, Idaho Clippers and
the Evansville, Wisconsin Bowl. The Clippers beat JRW in 2003 for the
Championship of the DeMarini Classic in Portland, Oregon.
