Sioux Falls Crow Bar Prevails in Division 1 State Men's Fastpitch


The SD ASA Mens' Fastpitch state tournament was held over the weekend in 
Sioux Falls. In Division 1, Crow Bar of Sioux Falls came through the losers 
bracket to post a 5-3 win over Jims Clothing of Dawson, Mn. The Crow was on 
the diamond most of the day Sunday to earn the state title. They had 3-0 
victory the first champion ship game over Jim's Clothing. A very good Red 
Leaf team took the third place trophy, and Kaufman Eye of Freeman took 4th.

Young's Primetime Sports Wins Division II State Men's Fastpitch Title

SIOUX FALLS - Young's Prime Time Sports became the first Watertown team 
since 1988 to win a state men's fastpitch non over 40 title by taking the 
S.D. ASA Division 2 championship over the weekend in Sioux Falls.

Watertown went 4-1 in the tourney and used Nick Heig's two three-run homers 
to down the Sioux Falls Silver Stars 11-3 in the second championship game.

Young's advanced to the championship with wins over the Lake Andes 
Warriors, 8-7; Young's Prime Time Sports Master of Watertown, 11-2; and the 
Silver Stars 4-2. Back-to-back homers in the bottom of the seventh inning 
by Ryan Lawrence and Heig lifted Watertown past Lake Andes.

The Silver Stars came out of the losers bracket and downed Young's 15-5 in 
the first championship game. Young's recovered to win the second championship.

Peterson's Marketing of Sioux Falls placed third in Division 2, followed by 
Young's Prime Time Master.

Sioux Falls Crow Bar won the Division 1 championship, followed by Jim's 
Clothing of Dawson (Minn.) and Red Leaf.
