Tribe Continues To Ground Eagle Offence



Game 2 of the best 5 semi final between the Toanche Eagles and Wyevale 
Tribe took place last night at the newly renovate Toanche diamond.  The 
field was in great shape, and there was a little chill in the air as Mother 
Nature provided a great night to play fastball.



Kevin Foster got the call for Toanche again, and pitched another solid 
game, but with a similar script to game 1, the Eagle offence provided no 
help. Foster took the loss giving up 4 runs (3 earned) 7 innings of 
work.  Notable for the Tribe was Trace Leonard who went 2-4, and picked up 
2 RBI's.  Mark Lambie, and Kyle Lapham drove in the other Tribe runs.



Kelly, and Game 1 started Jason Giffen combined on a 3 hit shutout of 
Toanche.  Kelly went 5 strong to get the win, giving up 2 hits and striking 
out 7.  Giffen closed the door, and got the save.  In a scary moment for 
the Tribe faithful, Giffen took a hard liner that ricocheted off his hand 
and plunked him square in the cheek.  He was alright, and finished out the 
game.



With the 4-0 win the Tribe takes a 2-0 strangle hold on the series, and can 
close it out on Thursday at the Teepee in Wyevale.



In other SRFL action the Minesing Monarchs took the crucial Game 3 in their 
best of 5 series with the defending champs from Vasey.  Minesing squeaked 
out a 9-8 victory in a slugfest.  Vasey now faces elimination on Thursday 
as they travel to Barrie to battle with the Monarchs on their own soil.
