Minesing Takes Game #1

The first game of the SRFL finals took place last night at the Wigwam
in Wyevale. Although the weather was ominous throughout, the
fastball was exciting all night.

In what turned out to be another pitchers duel between these two
clubs it was Minesing who struck first with a run in the top half of
the first inning. That run would be the lone run in the game as
Minesing ace Kurt Glover shut down the Tribe bats the whole way
through surrendering just 6 hits, while striking out 9 on his way to
the complete game shutout. On the losing end Jason Giffen gave up
just 4 hits and struck out 14 Minesing batters to collect the
loss. Three of Minesing's hits came off the bat of Paul Priest, who
also scored the only run of the game. Meanwhile for the Tribe Trace
Leonard and Graham McNabb both had multi hit games, but it was all
for naught as the Tribe could not string any kind of rally together,
and as such will travel to Barrie on Thursday night down 1 game to none.
