Kitchener Twins Win Fastpitch Challenge

The Kitchener Hallman Twins won the 3rd Annual Fastpitch Challenge
over
the long weekend by winning three straight games on Sunday to
take the
top prize. Led by the pitching of Todd Martin and Don Scott,
Kitchener
knocked of Ohsweeken, Heflin and Midland on Sunday in some chilly
temperatures to claim the title. Rain held off for the most part
but a
stiff breeze and cool temperatures rolled in on Friday and stuck
around
for the weekend that put a bit of a damper on the opening weekend
of
fastball in Ontario. In the round robin portion of the tournament,
Heflin took the top seed in the Edwards Division by going 3-0
and was
followed by St Thomas, Jarvis and Ohsweeken, who all finished
at 1-2.
Midland won the Ryder Division in a tie breaker with a 2-1 record
followed by Kitchener, Niagara and Oshawa. Game results are as
follows:
