Midland Wins!
Under sunny 80 degree weather in Erie, PA, The Midland Explorers
captured the 16th Annual George Baumann Memorial tournament by
defeating Heflin Builders 6-3. Rino Dambrosio was named MVP of
the tournament. In the championship game, Dombrosio and Craig
Crawford each hit two-run homers ,as Midland erased a 2-0 deficit
with three-run innings in both the 3rd & 4th innings. Doug Gillis
got the win on the mound. Steve Schucker had 2 RBI's for Heflin,
the runner-up for the 2nd straight year after winning back to
back titles in 2003 & 2004. Paul Algar took the loss for Heflin.

Midland advanced to the championship game by defeating the Innerkip
Eagles 1-0 on a Steve Horning solo homer in the first inning.
Heflin advanced with a 6-1 victory over Keating's Fitness Center.
