Junior White Sox go down fighting at Canada Cup 
Sunday July 9th 2006

The Junior White Sox have been knocked out to the Canada Cup
Futurestournament following a 4-3 tie breaker loss against Delta
Heat Boily inVancouver this morning. 

Competing in the championship round of the tournament the Junior
WhiteSox went into the game this morning in a must win situation
and theyfought to the very end to stay alive in the title race.


Going into the top of the seventh inning the Junior White Sox
were onerun down but Courtenay O’Donnell step up the plate and
smashed the ballout of the park to level the scores and send
the game into and extrainning.

Delta Heat Boily crossed the plate in the tie breaker inning
and deniedthe Junior White Sox a scoring chance to win the game
4-3. 

The loss today sees the Junior White Sox exit the tournament
havingachieved their goal of qualifying for the Championship
Playoffs. The teamhad a three wins two loss record in round robin
play and a one win twoloss record in the Championship round.


The Junior White Sox will now pack their bags for home and are
due toarrive in New Zealand on Wednesday July 12th.
