The Shamrocks went 1-2 at the boys of Summer Tournamentthis past
weekend
taking our season record to 14-9. Despite a great comefrom behind
win
against #13 Circle Tap in our opening game, a frustrating5-4
loss to #18 Quad City
and a run rule loss to #3 Orillia kept us from advancingto the
playoff bracket.
Many thanks to Dick Brethauer for his continued supportof the
team
throughout the weekend.

A brief summary of the weekends games is below:

to score
with commanding pitching by both teams. In the top ofthe 5th,
Circle Tap
were able to string hits together scoring one run. TheShamrocks
bats were
tied down until the top of the 7th when a solo home runby Andrew
Havercroft
tied the game. Some great defensive plays from Aaron Vailand
Dave Perkins
in the 8th and 9th held Circle Tap and gave the Shamrocksan opportunity
in
the bottom of the 9th. With Dave Perkins on 2nd (Int'lTiebreaker),
