Australia finishes fourth at US World Cup

The Australian Open Women's softball team has gone down to Canada
2-0, intheir fourth consecutive loss, at the US World Cup finishing
in fourth place. 

Australia had fivehits but was unable to convert, with Canada
having sixhits converting two runs in the bottom of the third
inning.   

In the searing heat and high humidity, the Australian team displayed
courageand commitment throughout the tournament, having coming
off a hard slog of ninedays at the Canada Cup which they finished
in first place.

At the end of a long campaign the team is satisfied with their
overallperformance and is looking forward to the International
Softball Federation'sWomen's World Championship, a pre-Olympic
qualifying event, held in Beijing in August.
