The Merchants won the final two games of the series to
claim the Madhatters Mens League crown over the
Madhatters Diamond Devils on Thursday night.
Madhatters gave the heavily favored Merchants a good
fight winning the first game on the series 3-2 on
Wednesday night.



In the first game on Thursday the Merchants won 11-1.
Madhatters pitcher Richie Clarke who was pitching for
the third straight night couldn’t contend with the
power of the Merchants hitters. Ken Long and Cory
Kinnon hit homers for the Merchants while Sheldon Ward
hit one for Madhatters.



In the second game Madhatters had the tying run on
base before falling 5-4. Curtis Ames was home run
hitter for the Merchants while Shayne Milligan who
took the pitching loss hit one for the Diamond Devils.



New Zealander Chunky Karantinia pitched for both of
the Merchant wins.



With end of the mens league season the Midget Diggers
continue their preparation for Nationals in Prince
Albert and the GP Pride are readying themselves for
the ISC championships in Windsor, Ontario.
