The SpinMaster Pitching/Catching School ( fastball instruction
) opens up for its 4th year of operation on Wednesday November
1, 2006. SpinMaster is open to all female and male pitchers and
catchers who have a burning desire to learn and further refine
themselves at these specialty defensive positions.
 
Under the guidance of Head Instructor Mal Swift and his sons,
Jason, Matthew, Ryan and a host of assisting instructors these
students of the game will further their skills to make them future
stars in fastball and keep the game alive and growing.
 
Pitchers will be instructed on proper mechanics, ball grips and
the defensive positioning without the ball. Pitchers will be
tested on accuracy and speed throughout the School year.
 
Pitchers must provide their own catchers. Only catchers taking
instruction will pay the catcher fee.
 
Catchers will learn positioning, catching mechanics and other
catching techniques with many drills implemented  to improve
their skills.
 
Instructor to student ratio is: pitchers 1 to 4 and catchers
1 to 2.
 
The School will be at Durham College's gym (north west corner
of Durham College's campus at the Athletic Centre) on Wednesday
nights for 1 hour sessions per age group, either 7 to 8 pm or
8 - 9 pm. Parking is available just north of the gym and a short
walk south will get you to the gym.
 
Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis. There
will be only 40 spots open to students. The cost of the 20 nights
will be $ 300.00/player, paid before or on the first night November
1,2006, if there is room. These fees also cover insurance.
 
Please register early to secure you spot in the School. Don't
miss out.
