Aussies thump Chinese Taipei at World Championship

 

The Australian Open Women’s team, Aussie Spirit, hasdefeated
Chinese Taipei 9-nil in their third game at the ISF Women’sWorld
Championship in Beijing, China. 

 

In just five innings, Australia bats dominatedChinese Taipei’s
pitchers by converting nine of the 10 hits to runs.

 

At the bottom of the first, Tracey Mosley singled tocenterfield
allowing base-runners Sandra Allen and Stacey Porter to score.
After Amanda Doman was hit by pitch and walked tofirst, Natalie
Titcume scored and then a further run to Natalie Ward took Australia
to a 5-nillead. 

 

In the second inning, the Aussie Spirit again demonstrated theirstrong
batting with huge home runs to Porter, Amanda Doman and Ward,
with Ward bringing home Mosleyto take Australia to a 9-nil lead.
  

 

The combined pitching of Australia’sMelanie Roche and Tanya Harding
held the oppositionbats, allowing just one hit. 

 

Australia’snext game is against Botswana at 12.30 pm (AEST) today.
