Carrol Forbes Foundation Scholarship Program Announced by International
Softball Congress

The International Softball Congress has created a college scholarship
program for young men who have been involved in ISC Youth Development
tournaments and events.

The announcement, made by ISC Executive Director Ken Hackmeister
and Carrol Forbes Foundation Scholarship Chair, Charlie Smith,
reflects the commitment of the ISC to enable the Forbes Foundation
income to go to work assisting young men who are committed to
the sport, to the ISC, and to furthering their education.

Both Hackmeister and Smith expressed their appreciation to John
Thompson of Kitchener for his great assistance in developing
the scholarship plan. Thompson heads up a non-profit (“Sports
and Scholarships”) which is the model for the new ISC plan.

The annual earnings of the Carrol Forbes Foundation will be used
to fund the scholarships.

Eligibility is limited to young men who have participated in
an ISC Youth Development sanctioned tournament or event, have
completed their secondary/high school education, and who are
continuing their academic career at a recognized post-secondary
institution.

Recipients will be chosen based on applicants’ responses to their
academic plans and career ambitions, their commitment to fastball
and letters from school and fastball references.

The application form may be found by going to the ISC website
- - www.iscfastpitch.com - - and following the prompts to Rules
and Forms.

The deadline for applications for the current school year is
NOVEMBER 15, 2006. They will be reviewed by the Carrol Forbes
Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee before the end of
the year. The recipient will be informed, and the scholarship
payment will be provided, early in 2007.

Applications should be submitted via e-mail to Charlie Smith,
CFF Scholarship Chair - - csmith2 at elp.rr.com - - 10317 Sugarberry
Place, El Paso, TX. 79925. Phone 915-598-7528.

Questions, or requests for additional information, should be
directed to Charlie Smith at the contact points noted above.
