Men: Auckland United 8 Artizan Glenora 0, Ramblers 7 Metro 4,
NewcastleHomes Howick 6 Te  Atatu Roosters 1, Ramblers 2 Metro
0, United 4Metro 3, United    Ramblers 10 Glenora 0, Northcote
2Otahuhu 0, Northcote 11 Marist 3, Metro 8 Marist 6. Otahuhu
v Marist andRoyal Canin Bears v Northcote postponed. 
Points: Ramblers 28 (15 played), United 20 (14), Northcote 20
(15), Bears18 (13), Metro 18 (14), Howick 10 (11), Marist 6 (12),
Otahuhu 6 (12),Roosters 6 (13), Glenora 0 (13).

Women: Waitakere Bears 9 Otahuhu 0, Bears v Northcote, Otahuhu
v Maristand Otahuhu v Howick postponed.
Points: Northcote 24 (13 played), Bears 20 (15), Marist 14 (12),
Howick 4(12), Otahuhu 2 (11).

   Metro let two games slip, allowing Ramblers a stroll to theminor
premiership, while allowing both United and Northcote into equalsecond
place.
   International stars Roman Gabriel and Dion Nukunuku hit homeruns
off successive pitches to give Metro a first inning lead butRamblers
whittled it away. With only three of the bottom four sides toplay,
Ramblers cannot be headed.
   Ahead 4-3 going into the seventh and last bat, Metro letRamblers
slip into the lead with a solid burst of four runs with twoerrors
and two walks setting up the champions for another tilt at thetitle.
   Then Ramblers won the second match of the double header 2-0.Metro
threw away a late lead against the challenging United side with
abig error a three runs to wipe out a 3-1 lead. It was a sad
weekend forMetro despite the return to form of big batter Duane
Jerard who hit twohome runs against United.
   Reece Gasson and Luke Allan each hit home runs off Metro,giving
the side a three-loss weekend.
   Northcote, boosted by the return of national captain JarradMartin,
sneaked ahead of the improving Otahuhu 2-0 and crushed Marist11-3
to keep in the hunt for second place but Waitakere Bears, with
gamesin hand, could still challenge.
