Canada Day at the Canada Cup

(White Rock, BC) - Team Canada celebrated Canada Day in style
today winning its’ second game by run rule at the 14th Canada
Cup Softball tournament in Surrey/White Rock, British Columbia.
In three innings Team Canada scored ten runs on nine hits. Running
was the key to the Canadian offense this evening - aggressively
advancing and taking extra bases whenever possible.

Cambria McKay (Brampton, ON) led Canada at the plate, going two-for-two
with a triple and five runs batted in. Erin McLean (Whitby, ON)
also collected two hits with two runs scored and an RBI, while
Sheena Lawrick (Calgary, AB) added a hit with three runs batted
in.

Pitcher Danielle Lawrie (Langley, BC) allowed just one hit while
fanning six Hurricane batters in her three innings of work.

With back to back run rule games, Team Canada will now focus
on their next opponent, a club team from Japan called Denso.
Game time is set for 6:30pm at Softball City in Surrey/White
Rock, BC.
