        THE CARDINALS STAY ALIVE
 
                                       Facing elimination in
the third game of a best of five semi final series "B" , the
Pickerel  River Cardinals picked up a high scoring 13-12 victory
over the Garson Hounds.Jonathan Contin (2-2) was the winner while
Micky Chartrand (2-1) suffered the loss.The fourth game in the
series will not resume now till next  Wednesday August the 20th
at 8 PM in Whitefish Lake . Should a fifth and deciding game
be needed it will be played on Thursday August 21st  at 8 PM
in Garson at the Lorne Brady Memorial Park.
 
                                                          NORTH
STARS GO FOR A THIRD STRAIT TITLE
 
                                         Friday night at 7 PM
, the Dog House North Stars will open the Northern Ontario Fastball
Championships in their quest for a third strait Northern Ontario
championships. In the opener ,they will face Aaron "Sixer" Owl
and the Sucker Creek Raiders. In the nightcap the Whitefish Lake
Steelers face the Magnatewan Native Sons. The tournament resumes
Saturday morning with five games on two fields from 9 AM in the
morning.Sunday will see the two semi finals and the championship
final.
 
                          Come out and see some excellent men's
fastball .
 
                                  Check Al's Fastball for results
of all games first of all on Friday than both Saturday and Sunday
. The winning pitcher and top hitters will be given.
