Rowe and Dewey named Durham College Athletes of the Week

OSHAWA, Ont. – Women’s fastball player Erica Dewey (Port Hope,
Ont.) and baseball player James Rowe (Whitby, Ont.) have been
named the Durham College athletes of the week presented by Boston
Pizza. 

Dewey, a third year sport management student, tied the OCAA record
for most RBI’s in a game (6) in the Lords 19-0 season opening
win over Seneca College. Dewey went 3-for-3 at the plate with
two home runs, six RBI’s and four runs scored. She also added
a run and an RBI in the Lords 11-1 win in their home opener against
St. Clair College.

Rowe pitched a complete game shutout over the weekend as the
Lords defeated York University in game one of their doubleheader.
He pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits and striking out
eight. Rowe had amazing control of his pitches on Saturday as
he did not allow a single walk. Saturday’s win was his second
complete game in two starts.

Rowe will be featured at the Lords next home game on Saturday,
September 25 as the featured promotion is James Rowe moustache
day. The starting pitcher is preparing to take part in Movember
– the fight against prostate cancer.

Fastball fans will also be packing Durham Field on campus over
the weekend as the Lords host the CAN-AM classic, set to take
place on Saturday and Sunday..

All athletes of the week will receive a free pizza courtesy of
the Boston Pizza – North Oshawa location. For more information
