SOFTBALL ONTARIO ADDS THREE NEW COACHES COMMITTEE MEMBERS TO
ITS LINE-UP!

NORTH YORK, ONTARIO- Softball Ontario welcomes  three (3) additions
to its Coaching Committee which include the following individuals
Matt Allen of Perth Road, ON; Ken Naylor of Pakenham, ON and
Ken Uyesugi of Richmond Hill, ON.

Below is a brief bio on each of the new Committee Member:

Matt Allen- a trained Competition-Introduction Softball coach
brings a new perspective to the Coaching Committee table with
the ground of being a player as well as a Softball Ontario Umpire.
 Matt’s coaching experience includes coaching the 2008 Kingston
Kobras Midget Boys team, 2009 Paris Predators Midget Boys 2009
and being the Assistant Coach for the Laurier Golden Hawk’s Women’s
Fast Pitch team for the last 3 years.  He is currently in his
fourth year of Kinesiology and Physical Education with a minor
Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University and is an active Learning
Facilitator/Evaluator for Softball Ontario in the National Coaching
Certification Program.

Ken Naylor- is currently a Master Learning Facilitator for Softball
Ontario specializing in the Community Sport Stream- Learn to
Coach and Keep Coaching.  Ken’s other roles in Softball have
included being an active member of Softball Ontario’s Participation
Committee, a Master Evaluator for Competition-Introduction, Softball,
a Softball Ontario Level 1 Umpire and Past President of Orleans
Amateur Fastball Association and Level 2 Certified Softball coach.
 Also, Ken is a member of Softball Canada’s Competition Review
Working Group.

Ken Uyesugi- Ken’s coaching experience started in 1998 with Oak
Ridges Minor Ball Association coaching a Bantam Girls team and
then moved onto Oak Ridges Co-ed 5 Pitch and since then he has
never looked back.  Ken was hooked and began coaching with Whitby
Eagles for 5 years before moving to Mississauga North Tigers.
 During this time Ken obtained his Level 3 Softball Certification
and was the Chairman for Softball Ontario’s Participation Committee.
 In 2005 Ken became a Master Learning Facilitator and Master
Evaluator for all Coaching Streams of the National Coaching Certification
Program,  he held varies positions on the executive of Richmond
Hill Softball Association (nee Oak Ridges Minor ball Association).

The Softball Ontario Coaching Committee is responsible for the
delivery of Softball Ontario’s National Coaching Certification
Program including Learn to Coach, Keep Coaching and Competition-Introduction,
Softball, Softball:  Level 3 technical and Minor Development
Clinic.  Coaching Committee members are also responsible for
setting program goals and objectives, representing the Coaching
Program and working to provide Coach Education and resources
in the province of Ontario.

The Coaching Committee is currently involved in the following
programs with more project underway:

·         The National Coaching Certification Program for Softball
in the Province of Ontario at the Community Sport and Competitive
Stream

·         International Coaching Symposium with Softball Canada
