It was a long way to travel for a loss — 5,571 miles to be exact.
Yet the Aurora Dolan & Murphy men’s fastpitch softball team had no inclinations of letting its visitors from Argentina be greeted any other way.
The Shamrocks used several two-out hits Thursday night to put their runs on the scoreboard, taking out the Argentina Junior National Team 5-2 at Stuart Sports Complex.
“It’s fun to play these games, and they’re a little younger but they’ve got some good players,” said Mike Drew, 61, about playing the 19U team.
Ales Jetmar threw the first three innings to pick up the win and run his record to 15-4. He gave up just one hit, walked none and struck out five in the brief but effective outing.
Dolan & Murphy moved to 21-8 on the season and will play in a tournament in Denmark, Wisc., this weekend. Click here for the complete story and photo.
