THE city’s best male softball players head to Brisbane tomorrow for a weekend of Queensland team training.
The boys will strut their stuff at the Redlands base to prepare for the coming National championships.The boys will have the services of top coaches for the two days, and will still continue to train under a Softball Queensland appointed satellite coach until they leave for National championships.
Jayson Morgan has recently returned from Argentina where he played in the U19 Aussie Colts team which defeated Panama in the final of the IV International Men’s Softball Tournament.
The Mount Isa players heading away this weekend include:
Jarrod Nilsson, 14, Jaymon King, 15, and Alex Cleary, 14, recently selected in U17s Queensland team.
Jayson Morgan, 16, and Matthew Hovi, 17, were recently selected in U19 Queensland team. Jane Wallace and Janice Blackman were selected in the girls U17 Queensland team.
The Mount Isa U17 boys will also be competing in the 2012 National Championship, Arthur Allsop Shield to be held in Altona, Victoria, January 2012. Click here to continue reading.
