SALT LAKE CITY – Twenty-four of the country’s best junior men’s fast pitch softball players arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah on Friday for the USA Junior Men’s Fast Pitch National Team selection camp the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America announced today.
The athletes, representing 10 states will compete in a tournament at Larry H. Miller Softball Complex (formerly Cottonwood Park), June 23 and 24. The team will also play exhibition games on Monday giving the players ample opportunity to audition for one of the final 17 roster spots on the National Team. Salt Lake City is the first of two stops in the team’s selection process. The athletes will also meet in Midland, Mich., July 13-23 for another round of evaluations prior to the announcement of the final roster July 25.
The 17 athletes selected to the USA Junior Men’s Fast Pitch roster will represent their country at the ISF IX Jr. Men’s World Championships, November 1-10, in Parana, Argentina. The 24 athletes who accepted an invitation to tryout are:

Do you have results from the SLC tournament in which US Boys 18U team played? I’ve heard and seen nothing.
Park is now named Larry H. Miller Softball Complex. There is no longer a Cottonwood Park.

I don’t yet, but will see if I can chase them down. Thank for the correction on renaming of Cottonwood Park to Larry H. Miller Softball Complex, I’ve fixed in the USA Softball story and passed word along to author of story at USA Softball.
