Update Monday, September 3:
Bob is finally out of ICU. He is progressing slowly but hopefully he will be home soon.
We are sorry to report that Bob Chapel had a heart attack. He is in ICU. Prayers for Bob.
The latest report on Sunday morning:
Bob is still in ICU, they have removed the nitro drip. He is looking better, but weak. Thanks for the prayers. Claudean
Bob’s name has been synonymous with Northern California Fastpitch for many years.
Bob: The fastpitch community wishes you a full and speedy recovery. You have done so much to keep our game alive. Its much appreciated brother!
All of us who have seen the effort Bob Chapel has put in to keep fastpitch softball alive in Northern California wish him a full recovery. It must be rewarding to him to see two teams from his NorCal League win championships in the same year, Santa Rosa Fastpitch in the NAFA Class A World Series in Topeka, KS, and the East Bay Bashers in the ASA’s Class C West Nationals in North Mankato, MN. Bob, who shows his dedication by traveling from his home in Montana to tournaments in northern California on a regular basis, had hoped to be in Topeka to watch Santa Rosa play but was unable to do so.
Great guy, Bob is, an d our prayers are with him and his family.
he was surely happy about his two teams doing so well this year at nationals.
everyone at NAFA is praying for a full recovery
Just a note on how tough a guy Bob is – the moment he had access to the outside world after over a week in the hospital he was on the phone getting the 2013 West Coast Fastpitch Association schedule finalized. Talk about comitted to our game! Dont forget to slow down Bob!
I was happy to hear him sounding the same as always and good to have you back Bob.
