Day 2 of the ISF Jr. Men’s World Championship:
NZL vs DEN;
SIN vs VEN;
JPN vs CRO;
USA vs DEN;
IND vs AUS;
ARG vs CAN
Editor’s pick for Game of the day:
Argentina v. Canada.
Canada was the silver medalist in 2008 at Whitehorse. Argentina was in the mid-tier of teams at 6-5, knocking on the door for the medal round (AUS, CAN, JAP and NZ were in the medal round). The Argentines have made a huge push to take their program to the next level, including a North American tour this past summer that took them to Bill Hillhouse’s prestigious Erie tournament against the world’s best teams, and then a week later to the ISC World Tournament where they won the junior division. Canada remains one of the world powers in both the Jr. and Senior division, with great organization, coaching and talent. Add a passionate hometown crowd in Parana and this one figures to be one to watch.
