The USA Softball Junior Men’s National Team was originally scheduled to play Canada today at 1:00 p.m. (EST) prior to the rain. According to the rescheduled plan, this game, along with a matchup between Australia and New Zealand will be played simultaneously on the two tournament fields at 8:00 a.m. (EST) on Saturday. The two winners will then play for a spot in the tournament’s top three while Japan and Argentina’s rescheduled game takes place on the opposite field. The final two games of the tournament will then take place with the third place game at approximately 2:00 p.m. (EST) and the gold medal contest at 5:00 p.m. (EST).
Editor’s note: Parana time is 2 hours ahead of Eastern time, 5 hours ahead of Pacific time.
Tournament officials plan to meet on Saturday morning to reevaluate Saturday’s weather conditions and make any additional schedule adjustments.
The USA Junior Men have amassed a 5-2 record in the tournament while outscoring their opponents 53-29. As a team they are 53-of-167 from the plate for a .317 average.
