Editor’s pick for Game(s) of the Day:
Pool B – New Zealand v. Japan – two of the top four contenders in pool B. (Canada and Argentina figuring to be the other two). Japan is coming off a tough 3-1 loss to Argentina last night, and looking for a win to keep from falling off the bubble (top four make the playoffs) New Zealand is playing solidly so far and will have the home town crowd behind them.
Pool A – Czech Republic and Venezuela square off in a battle of so-far unbeatens (2-0). At present, the top three look to be defending Gold medalists Australia, Venezuela (runner-up at the Pan-Ams), upstart Samoa, who knocked off a rusty-and-still-struggling Team USA yesterday. The top four teams advance to the playoff round.
