The biggest marquee matchup so far in the 2013 ISF World Championship at Auckland, New Zealand is slated for tonight, featuring the silver and bronze medalists from 2009 (the last World Championships played), New Zealand and Canada, respectively. It will be live streamed at 1:30 a.m. Eastern time, 10:30 a.m. for those of us lucky enough to be the Pacific Time Zone.
Linda Reddigan points out on Fastpitchwest’s Facebook that the game time translates to 3AM in Newfoundland/Labrador. She says she’ll be up early, not late, to catch the last few innings. That’s dedication!
In the words of Mad Max “Two Men Enter, One Man Leaves”. (with an unbeaten record) Canada and host New Zealand are both 3-0, in Pool B, which appears to be decidedly tougher than Pool A. The two squads appear to be locked in for two of the three playoff/medal round spots, with Argentina and Japan battling for the third.
Canada’s wins came over Argentina (2-1 in extra innings), the Phillipines (10-0) and Mexico (6-0).
New Zealand’s wins came over Mexico (5-0), Columbia (6-0) and Japan (7-2).
