Maccabi USA wins over the Souvenirs in the A-Major
Rude-Pac flexes some muscle to take the A over Colton. The SCIFL web site has been updated with a recap of the tournament for each classification, as well as updated brackets. The information can be viewed at www.scifastpitch.com.
The SCIFL website mentions:
Next year with Easter on April 20th, the Road Trip will more than likely be played either the weekend of April 5/6 or April 12/13. For those that made the trip, we hope you had a safe trip home and that you plan on coming back next year. For those that weren’t able to make it, hopefully you can plan ahead and come to the tournament next year.
Stats for the tournament will be up shortly on the SCIFL site.
I haven’t seen any scores or stats of the championship games from each division, nor the standings of the top (four) teams in the divisions. Can anyone who played in or watched the tournament provide this information? For such a prestigious tournament, it seems that at least the scores and standings should be posted. Maybe I missed this somewhere??
AA-Major championship game:
Rhinos 6
Toros 5
Toros out to an early 4-0 lead. Rhinos score 3 in bottom of 6th to close gap to 4-3. Toros score 1 in top of 7th making score 5-3. Rhinos rally in bottom of 7th with 2 outs to score 3 runs and take the win.
AA-Major Standings:
1. Rhinos (5-0)
2. Topeka Toros (4-2)
3. Lacy A’s, WA (6-2)
4. Cal State Builders (4-2)

Hi bob I played in the AA major with the lacey a’s and we took 3rd. We played eight games pretty much all back to back. I thought the tournament was poorly formatted seeing how we played eight games and one of the teams we eliminated on sunday had only played three…and I agree with u for being a highly prestigeous tournament there was little to no coverage….I for one won’t be back next year unless the format changes.
Pat,
Not sure if you understand a tourney format, but if you lose your 2nd game of the day, you are going to have to play quite a bit more games than a team that loses their 3rd. That is the way any tournament would work, not just this one. In order to play less games, you need to lose later in the tournament or win them all…

How about playing on friday like last year….or single elimination ob sunday….don’t get me wrong I still had a great time but I was sicker than a dog on monday due to exhaustion I figure…
The NAFA format is as fair as fair can be. i think the problem lies with the teams that lose early and continue to roll with wins throughout the tourney weekend. Whats the solution or alternative? dont lose early or if u lose, lose again and pack it in….as the story details, it happened for the A’s and the Wolfpack….cant keep everyone happy all the time…
