NAFAconvened the Executive Committee at 8 p.m. Monday by conference call and quickly approved these models for adult fastpitch.
This is an excerpt the Major National Coaches received from ASA:
“Due to the low availability of new bat models with the 2004 Certification Mark on bats that are of the required weights for the Men’s Fast Pitch game – the following statement will occur for the Men’s Major Fast Pitch National Championship Finals:
“For the Men’s Major Fast Pitch National Championship Finals, bats with the new ASA Certification Mark on them and listed on the ASA Approved Bat list will be allowed in this event. The other ASA Bats that have the 2000 or 2004 Certification Marks will also be allowed as long as they are on the ASA Approved Bat list…”
Please note: the penalty for using a banned bat in NAFA play will be strictly enforced and with this new ruling there is absolutely no reason for any player to use a banned bat.
NAFA is making every effort to have bat vendors in Des Moines making these newly approved bats available to the teams.
