# 21 Bloomington started with a win over #16, knocked off #11 Pueblo, then #7 Sooke Loggers, BC, to get to the Winner’s Bracket Elite 8.
Unranked Houston Carnage dropped their opener, but has reeled off three straight wins, over # 24 New Image, Midland Emerson Aces and the NY Swashbucklers, to arrive today at the Sweet 16.
Editor’s Note 2: How’s this for the line of Tuesday’s games: Derek Mayson of the California A’s: in the 11-1 win over the Lacey WA A’s, Mayson was 3-for-4 with a single, double and home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored 3. Oh, and for good measure, he was the winning pitcher, tossing a complete game 5 hitter, striking out 9.
South Texas boys from Houston Carnage showing out in the Sweet 16! There is world class talent in this State…just a matter of securing the resources to travel a thousand miles to the nearest major.
Wait til they face some of the “big boy” teams. Then we will see what they’re made of
Played like a true hater aarogod. That statement was about as profound and thought-provoking as well…the name aarogod.
And btw are you calling anyone in the tournament that doesn’t meet your definition of “big boys”…”little boys”? Do you even play ball “bruh”?
Does it matter at this point they are in the sweet 16 with their own team. Top ten is good. Ask them what’s their payroll is.
Hey, any of y’all Texas boys ever heard of Pete Garrison or Bob Lovelace? When I was a young lad growing up in Corpus Christi, these guys (both pitchers) were my idols. Now it seems that nobody’s ever heard of them.
