The Pueblo Bandits, one of the longest running teams in men’s open fastball will begin play at the ISC World Tournament, Sunday at 1pm EDT, 11am in the Rocky Mountain region, against the Great Lakes Pirates of Port Elgin Ontario, following the ISC Hall of Fame induction of their skipper, Chris Santos. The Bandits have appeared in 18 ISC World Tournaments and with a roster composed primarily of Colorado players. Chris and his brother Jerry formed the Pueblo CO Bandits and Chris has managed the team for a quarter-century.

Bandits prevail and avoid the upset over Great Lake Pirates 1-0 in 8 innings. Regan Manley picks up win over Frank Cox. Manley gave up just 2 hits, Cox, 3. Vladamir Terkelsen singled home the game winner in the 8th inning, with the runner reaching on an error.

Santos was among a class of seven people honored at the this year’s Hall of Fame breakfast Sunday morning. His official Hall of Fame biography is below.
Chris Santos, Aurora CO
Born in Pueblo CO, Chris Santos grew up in ballparks following his father Joe, who was very active in the sport. Chris played as a youth before leaving Colorado pursuing a communications career in Denver CO. In 1988, Chris and his brother Jerry formed the Pueblo CO Bandits and Chris has managed the team for a quarter-century. The Bandits have appeared in 18 ISC World Tournaments and with a roster composed primarily of Colorado players, has earned two top-ten finishes. Off the field, Chris and his family contribute to area youth in sports, sponsoring 21 scholarships to athletes pursuing a college degree, providing time and funding to the Pueblo Athletic League for under-privileged youth and running the Pueblo Softball league for the past twenty years. Chris has also served as an ASA Deputy Commissioner, ISC Travel League Commissioner and is currently the ISC USA vice-president.
