Tony Mancha pitched the run-rule 5 innings, surrendering just one hit – a single by the second batter of the game, while striking out 12 and walking 3.
Derek Mayson provided the offensive firepower, homering twice, driving in 3 and scoring three times. Marcus Tan and Chase Turner also had two hits in the contest for the A’s, including a triple and double respectively. Matt Ratliff drove in a pair of runs with a first inning single. The A’s opened a 3-0 lead in the first and never looked back scoring another run in the third on Turner’a RBI double and three more in the 5th to seal the run-rule victory.

The A’s will next face the Staten Island New York Swashbucklers, who beat the Ohsweken Ontario Redmen 1-0 in 10 innings behind the behind the 23 strikeout pitching of Canadian Devin McCullough, over Argentine newcomer, Pablo Migliovacca.
The A’s-Swashbuckler game is slated for 4pm EDT Monday, 1pm on the west coast.
