BRACEBRIDGE – A chance encounter has helped a Bracebridge man win a world title.
Ted Conway said he was having a conversation with some visiting players during a fastball tournament in Muskoka this past June when they asked him if he would be interested in joining them at the 2014 North American Fastball Association World Series in Moline, Illinois in early September.
The local fastball star agreed, and when the dust on the diamond settled on Sept. 7, Conway found himself holding the NAFA world championship trophy for the 45-over division, as a member of the Grimsby Diamond Kings.
