Team Canada capped an unbeaten string of seven games at Toronto to win the Pan American games gold medal, with a 2-0 win over silver medalist Venezuela. Bradley Ezekiel provided all the offense that Canada would need, following a walk to Mathiew Roy with a 2 run homer in the 6th. Sean Cleary picked up the win, tossing a 6 strikeout 3 hitter against Venezuela. After being shut out for 6 innings, Venezuela scored a run in the 7th, but were unable to tie.
The gold medal was the second captured by Canada on home soil in the past two weeks, following the gold medal won on July 5 at Saskatoon, in the 2015 WBSC (World Baseball Softball Confederation World Championship.

Pan-American medals went to the same three countries who won medals at the Pan-Am qualifier last fall in Parana Argentina, but re-shuffling the order of finish. (Venezuela won gold at the qualifier, Argentina silver and Canada bronze)
