Top Finishers from Last World Cup (2019) all in Group B

The top finishers in the last WBSC World Cup, played at Prague CZE in 2019 are in Group B – Argentina, Canada and the USA, (Japan and New Zealand compete in a different region.)
(GOLD MEDAL) – Argentina is the reigning Gold Medal Champion (World Cup 2019), and is in Group B. (As noted by @NYSoftball above, Argentina is also the reigning Pan American champion. Argentina is seeded #2 in the 2022 Pan Ams.
Japan won silver at Prague, but does not play in the Americas tournament.
(BRONZE MEDAL) – Canada won bronze at Prague, at the 2019 World Cup and is also in Group B. Canada is seeded #6 overall in the 2022 Pan-Ams.
New Zealand finished 4th at the last World Cup in Prague, but like Japan, does not compete in the Americas region.
(5TH Place) – USA finished 5th at Prague (2019), beating Venezuela for that spot and will compete in Group B. USA is seeded #3 at the 2022 Pan-Ams.
Venezuela finished 6th at Prague, and was the 2017 Qualifer champion. Venezuela is the #1 seed overall and top seed in Pool A of the 2022 Pan Ams.
Mexico did not make the Playoff Round at the 2019 World Cup at Prague, is in Pool A, the #4 seed overall in the 2022 Pan-Ams.
Cuba did not make the Playoff Round at the 2019 World Cup at Prague, is in Pool A, the #5 seed overall in the 2022 Pan-Ams.
