SNZs New ISF Umpires
The Softball New Zealand Umpires wish to congratulate Mark Porteous (North Harbour), Rikki Tourangi (Auckland), Jeremy England (Wellington) and Dave Shedlock (Wellington) on attaining their International Softball Federation (ISF) Accreditation recently at the Australian Mens and Womens Open in Brisbane 22 – 26 February 2011.
Supervised and examined by Bob Stanton, ISF Director of Umpires, Wayne Saunders, Oceania Umpire in Chief, Tricia Sibraa, National Umpire in Chief and members of the Australian Umpiring fraternity, our four representatives were put through the stringent tests in order to gain a 90% pass mark to gain their accreditation.
For all of them the realisation of succeeding has not quite sunk in. However, they are aware that they are now Level Seven umpires under SNZ’s Umpiring Programme and are eligible to apply for international appointments.
We wish them well in their future careers and look forward to the next generation of ISF Umpires to come.
