I have attached the 2011 Men’s Fastpitch ASA North Pacific Coast Tournament Series Schedule of Events and the 2011 Men’s Fastpitch Classification Committee General Information release.
Please note that for teams from the Northern California area to be eligible to play in the 2011 Men’s ASA Class “C” Fastpitch National Tournament in Prescott, Arizona teams must have participated in at least (2) ASA sanctioned events from the tournament listing included on the Region 14 Website www.Region14.com. The tourney listing attached reflects the Northern California Area tournament series schedule. All teams are invited to participate.

2011 ASA North Pacific Coast Region Tournament Series Format(As adopted by the Men’s Fastpitch Classification Committee)
Tournament Format – Applies to C teams only
Men’s Fastpitch ‘C’ teams from the Greater San Joaquin, Northern California, Oakland, Sacramento and San Francisco areas wishing to participate in the “C” Nationals must play in 2 ASA Tournament Series events listed below or any event listed on the Pacific Coast Region 14 website www.region14.com to be eligible to participate.
Note: Teams from the Central California, Hawaii, Nevada and Southern California areas contact your local ASA commissioner for National qualifying and ASA roster freeze date information.

1. Entry Fees and Tournament Format:
Entry Fees not to exceed $450.00 per tournament.
Tournament Format must be scheduled as a Round Robin or 3 Game Bracket Format Entry Fee and Tournament Format will be determined and advertised by the host city.
2. ASA Registration Fee, Team Rosters and Roster Freeze Date:
A registration fee of $20 will be collected from each team at their first event (no exceptions) if they have already registered with their local ASA association they will receive a refund. This ensures that all teams will be ASA registered at their first event.
ASA Rosters will be required and must be turned in at the first event played by a team (no exceptions). Rosters may be used for the next tournament on the schedule. Teams must turn in a new roster if there are any changes.
ASA Roster freeze date will be on August 5, 2011.
3.. (ASA Code 507G02)
A team that has a combination of four or more players on a roster, including pick-ups, from a team or teams subject to mandatory reclassification, restricted classification or are on the PCR team list must maintain the classification as assigned. Players may only play one level below their current classification which is based on what classification they last participated in.
B. B Teams and above participation:
“B” teams are encouraged to work together to select the above tournament dates they can play in. Tournament directors will make every effort to accommodate the B teams. In addition if these teams want to schedule separate events they can work with their local commissioners to obtain help in scheduling fields and umpires.
C. The ASA Men’s Fastpitch Restricted list is located at http://www.softball.org/adult/restrictedplayers.asp. Players/Pitchers on this list may NOT play below the Men’s Major level. Additionally players/pitchers on the Men’s National Team may not play below the “A” (or “Open”) level.
D. Teams (players) that participate in the Men’s “A or B” Fastpitch ASA National Championship Tournament in July, 2011 may NOT participate in the Men’s “C” Fastpitch ASA National Championship Tournament in September, 2011.

In an attempt to improve communications with our registered team managers, coaches and players, we are sending this General Information memo listing some frequently asked questions and answers, the 2011 Men’s Fastpitch Classification Committee Meeting Schedule and the local ASA Commissioners and committee representatives for the ASA Pacific Coast Region 14 area. Where do I find our team or pitcher classification listing?
Team and Pitcher Classification Listings, Appeal Process and Tournament Information can be obtained by visiting the Pacific Coast Region 14 Web Site (at) www.Region14.com. The website is updated as information becomes available or by contacting your local ASA Commissioner or their designated ASA representatives. (See listing attached)
Who do I appeal my current classification listing to?
Teams & Pitchers have the right to appeal their classification to the Region 14 Men’s Fastpitch Classification Committee. The appeal should be based on participation for that current year. If the listing of the team is from the ASA Code, the appeal is not complete until ALL steps have been approved.
What do I have to do to appeal my current classification listing?
Team & Pitcher appeals must be in writing and filed through your local ASA Commissioner or their association representatives. E-mails are accepted. Appeals will only be heard at regularly scheduled meetings of the classification committee and should be made 48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting date.
How many players can I have on my roster from a higher classified team?
(ASA Code 507G02) A team that has a combination of four or more players on a roster, including pick- ups, from a team or teams subject to mandatory reclassification, restricted classification or are on the PCR team list must maintain the classification as assigned. Players may only play one level below their current classification (Simplified: Once a “C” team adds 4 or more “B” players to their roster that team becomes a “B” team)
