Gallant, Stewart propel Hitmen sweep of Midgets

Tommy Gallant and Wayne Stewart each had big nights at the plate as the 
Kinkora O'Shea's Pub and Eatery Hitmen took a doubleheader over the Moase 
Plumbing and Heating Midgets Wednesday night.

The Hitmen won 5-0 and 8-0 in Source for Sports Men's Intermediate Fast 
Pitch League play at Queen Elizabeth Park's Very Important Volunteer Field 
in Summerside.

In Game one, Stewart (2-3 home run, run scored, RBI), Art MacDonald (1-1 
two walks, run scored, RBI) and Kevin Warren (1-2 walk, two runs scored) 
led the Hitmen (12-0), who stretch their winning streak to a high 12 games 
with the wins.

For the Midgets, Collin Dillon of Tyne Valley (2-3 stolen base), Tyler 
Richards (2-3) and Ryan Gallant (1-3) contributed offense.

Winning pitcher Frank McAree went the distance, allowing five hits, and 
fanning 13 batters.

Losing pitcher Ryan Ferrish went seven innings, allowing five runs (four 
earned) walking four and striking out six.

Gallant (3-3 three runs scored, two RBI, home run) powered the Hitmen in 
game two. Also contributing was (Craig Manuel (1-2 two run home run), Kevin 
Warren (2-3 home run, RBI, two runs scored) and Wayne Stewart (1-3 triple).

John MacLennan (1-2 walk), Ryan Gallant (1-3 triple), Ryan Ferrish (1-2) 
and Shawn Bernard (1-3) led the Midgets at the plate.

Winning pitcher Kevin Warren went six innings allowing four hits, walking 
one and fanning 10 batters. Losing pitcher Jeremy Gallant went two innings 
in relief, allowing five runs on five hits, walking two and striking out 
one. Starter Pierre Richard went four innings giving up three runs on three 
hits, walking two and sitting down three.
