Auckland Marist Hits 60 and Wants to Celebrate.

Marist, Auckland's most successful softball club over the past 15 years is 
celebrating its 60th season on the weekend of 24-26 September.

Over the past few years the number of Marist players who have played in the 
Black Sox and White Sox has led the way in Auckland and the side has 
inspired the family-based club to greater heights.

The celebrations will be based at the club's headquarters at Simson Park, 
in Penrose's industrial area, where the tree-surrounded twin-field complex 
has top facilities for fans to watch the top players.

Former stars international players Eric Kohlhase, Peter Buffalora, Mike 
Forsyth, along with current Black Sox Donny Hale, Roman Gabriel, Dion and 
Nathan Nukunuku and Paddy Shannon are expected, as well as the club's 
current international stars Taifau Matai (winner of three world titles), 
Heinie Shannon, Jeremy Stanley, Gus Leger, current coach and former star 
Dean Rice and prospective Black Sox coach Eddie Kohlhase.

On the women's side there is Fiona Timu, the current White Sox captain and 
NZ Player of the Year, as well as the outstanding Jackie Smith and a host 
of past and coming stars.

Marist, along with Ramblers, has set the standards in play and 
administration and the club would welcome former members as it celebrates 
60 great years.

Friday 24. Meet and greet at the clubrooms 7pm
Saturday 25 Games during the day at Simson Park. Starts with T ballers at 9am.
That night there is a dine and dance at Alexandra Park Raceway.
Sunday starts with a Mass at noon, followed by former players' games and a 
family BBQ.

The club wants to make the weekend a social success so get in touch.
