I was also in St. Croix last week as a FAN and parent of a player. This was 
our first year in the Senior Men's catagory and I am also very upset at the 
prices I had to pay.($75.00 over the week)  Our team was not aware we would 
be in this tournament until into August and the passes from the internet 
were not available at a cut cost of $60.00, so therefore I had to pay 
$15.00 even if our team only played 1 game per day.  RIDICULOUS.  I didn't 
have the option of staying for the "whole day" as I was told over and over 
by gate keepers.  They were very rude to us and told the lady I was with 
(who was driving ball players to their game) if she didn't move her vehicle 
it would be towed away.  That was by the man with the toothache!  Softball 
is a dying sport that so many of us are trying despirately to keep going 
because it's so great.  Softball Canada has to realize that if they DON'T 
regulate the price of a dmission (especially for kids) to get into the park 
to watch such a great game, it will be gone forever, sooner than they 
think.  People were FURIOUS having to pay these prices to come in to an 
evening game to watch the Keith's play one game.
I sure hope many things were learned over the past week by Softball Canada 
and tournament organizers.  Residency rules have to be tightened and NOT 
ignored.  Play for your province and be proud of what you have instead of 
trying to stack a team.  As you noticed this past week, money can't always 
buy you a championship title.
Let's, as fans of this great sport get this back to a family game and put 
the best possible talent on the field without having paying them a salary. 
Some of these players have to learn to play from the heart and not the 
pocket book.
