Scarborough, ON

After having gone undefeated in the Scarborough Men's Fastball League during
the regular season with a record of 16-0-2, the Scarborough Wolves continued
that trend through the playoffs winning the semi-Finals 2 games to none
against a young but feisty Scarborough Royals team and then sweeping the
finals 3 games straight against the Scarborough Blackjacks.

Steve Knetchel did the bulk of the Wolves pitching during the playoffs
highlighted by an 18K's performance in the opening game of the finals
against the Blackjacks. In the final game of the series played last night
at "The Wolf Den", Jim May of The Wolves threw a strong 6 and two thirds
innings before leaving the game with a 6-3 lead, the bases loaded and two
outs. Steve Knetchel then came in and after surrendering a walk to the
first man he faced, he struck out the final batter to end the game and give
the Scarborough Wolves the championship. Kudos to rookie manager Mike
Racioppo who brought this team into being in about 24 hours last spring, and
bringing together a winning combination with the likes of Gary Latchford,
Mike O'Hearn, Craig Sarson, Steve Mo, Mark Thompson, Ted Boggs, Dave Barros,
Cam Armstrong, Pat Humphries, Peter Seto, Chris Young as well as the
aformentioned Steve Knetchel, Jim May and Mike Racioppo.
