Centennials capture fastball title in front of hometown crowd

Call them Canada's best team. The St. Thomas Evergreen Centennials thrilled 
a home crowd of nearly 4,000 by winning the Canadian senior men's fastball 
championship over Newfoundland 7-1 in the final Sunday at the Douglas J. 
Tarry Complex.
Pitcher Frank Cox scattered four hits and struck out 11 batters with no 
walks, finishing the tournament at 5-0 with a 0.55 ERA, 56 strikeouts and 
seven walks.
