Softball Canada’s Women’s National Team Defeats Michigan
October 15th, 2005

(Ottawa) Softball Canada’s Women’s National Team continued its winning ways 
at the
Nebraska Fall Classic defeating Michigan 4-2 and improving its record to 4-0.

After 4 scoreless innings, Canada got their offense going in the top of the 
5th inning.
Alison Bradley (Pinkerton, ON) hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Kritsy Odamura 
(Richmond,
BC).  Odamura had reached on a base on ball.  Michigan would tie the game 
in the bottom
of the 6th inning.

Noémie Marin (Acton Vale, QC) led off the top of the 7th inning with a 
single up the
middle.  Odamura then reached on a bunt single, advancing Marin to 2nd 
base.  With 1
out, Sheena Lawrick (Calgary, AB) came through with an RBI single to the 
right side,
giving Canada a 2-1 lead.  Bradley then grounded out to 3rd base, scoring 
Odamura,
giving Canada a 3-1 cushion.  Canada would add 1 more run, giving them a 
4-1 lead going
into the bottom of the 7th.

Auburn Sigurdson (Surrey, BC) entered the game in the top of the 4th 
inning; she allowed
2 runs on 4 hits, and struck out 2 batters on her way to the win.
