DURHAMCOLLEGE NEARLY SWEEPS ALL MAJOR PROVINCIAL AWARDS IN COLLEGE
FASTBALL

 

Windsor, ON – St. Clair College hosted the OCAA Fastball Championship
Awards Banquet in downtown Windsor at the Cleary International
Centre; OCAA league awards including All-Stars and Major Awards
for the season were announced.

 

Lords phenom fastball freshmen Danielle Smith (911 Emergency
& Response) took home a lot of hardware; she was named Player
of the Year, OCAA League Top Pitcher, and Rookie of the Year;
she was also selected as OCAA League All-Star. Smith led the
league with 69 strikeouts, pitched 62 innings and only allowed
15 runs scored for an overall pitching record of 9-1.

Fourth year standout player and second base Karen McWilliams(4th
Year –Bachelor of Arts) was also selected as an OCAA League All-Star,
and captured the OCAA League Batting Champion. She finished the
regular season with a batting average of 0.513. McWilliams dominated
the Lords and the OCAA box scores every game this year, as is
evident by her final statistics.
