GOLFERS & FASTBALL PLAYERS NAMED DURHAM COLLEGE ATHLETES OF THE
WEEK

Golfers & Fastball players named Durham College Athletes of the
Week

OSHAWA, Ont. – There were too many fantastic performances over
this past week by Durham College student-athletes that the Athlete
of the Week awards have been won by the golf and women’s fastball
teams.

The Durham College women’s fastball team had a podium finish
at the 2010 Canadian Intercollegiate Women's Fastpitch National
Championship in Saskatoon this weekend as they won the bronze
medal. This year’s third place finish is the Lords best result
at the national championship, as they placed fifth in Kitchener
last year.

The Lords will now have their sights set on the OCAA provincial
championship, as they host the finals at Durham College from
October 15-16, 2010. 

The Durham College golf team won four medals at the OCAA Championship
this past week. The women’s team won three medals in total, including
gold in the team and individual competitions. The men’s team
also brought home some hardware winning the silver medal in the
team competition.

The golf team is taking part in the CCAA national championship
in Kamloops, BC this week.
