Regina Century 21 Angels win Canada West ISC II berth to Chippewa Falls,
Wisconsin
The 2005 Progress for Portage ISC II Area Qualifier was won by the
Regina Century 21 Angels as they defeated Regina Gold 4-2. After coming out
of pool play as a number 2 seed the Angels earned their way to final with
wins over Devils Lake Risers in the quarter- finals before knocking off 4
time Progress for Portage defending champions Gladstone( ranked ISC #4) in
the semi-finals . On the other side of the draw Regina Gold, also a 2 seed,
earned their trip to the finals with victory over the Portage Phillies and
an extra inning win over Cowessess Royals.
With the win Century 21 earns a berth to the ISC Tournament of
Champions in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin from August 14-20 as the Canada
West Area ISC II Champions.
Tournament awards handed out after the final included Jay Dewis of
Portage Phillies as the Top Hitter with a .612 average while the Tournament
MVP and Top Pitcher awards went to Tony Sparvier and Jason Kaye both of
Century 21.
