Lots of movement in the ISC II Rankings as teams gear up for the 2005 ISC II Tournament of Champions

While the top two teams remains the same atop the ISC II June 17 Rankings, there is a lot of movement in the top 10 and below as teams are qualifying for the 2005 ISC II Tournament of Champions.

Tavistock, ON Smully’s Tavistock Merchants and the two-time defending champion Harriston, ON Mercury’s continue to hold down the top two spots, while Kanata, ON Team Easton Thunder climbs three places to #3 on the strength of two tournament wins. Kanata will attempt to qualify for the 2005 ToC next weekend.

Galesville, WI Wilber Lime jumps from #8 to #5 on the basis of winning the tough Wisconsin area qualifier.

The ranking committee boosted the Niagara, ON Snappers another 10 places in the rankings, from #18 to #8 after they won the highly competitive Snapper Shootout in early June. Along with Niagara, #4 Norwich, ON Razorbacks and #6 Palermo, ON Athletics will be the among the favourites to win the 14-team Eastern Canada (southwestern Ontario) area qualifier this weekend.

The only club to fall out of the top 10 was Appleton, WI The Bar of Appleton at #12.

A total of 37 teams received at least one vote from the 12-person panel.

The rankings will form the basis for seeding teams in the fourth annual ISC II Tournament of Champions which will be played August 14-19 at Casper Park in Chippewa Falls, WI. The tournament will feature 40 teams from across North America playing a four-game round robin schedule in eight pools of five teams each. The top three teams from each pool advance to a single elimination playoff bracket.

Nearly 20 teams have already qualified for the 2005 ISC II ToC with several more teams expected to qualify in the next two weeks.
