Expos over Cubs in Hillsburgh final

Editor’s Note: Casey Halstead, the MVP & Top Pitcher at the 2005 ToC, knocked off his former teammates in the finals of the Hillsburgh tournament. Halstead, now with the Elmira Expos, topped the K-W (formerly Elmira) Cubs 5-4 to win the championship. Halstead won the home run derby to boot.


The Erin Twisters Fastball Club held there 2nd annual tournament at Barbour field in Hillsburgh.We would like to thank all of those who made this tourny possible.. Congratulations to the Elmira Expos for winning this years tournament. Congratulations to Casey Halstead of the Elmira Expos for winning the Home Run Derby with 5. Casey also pitched a 5 inn perfect game in the semi finals. See everyone next year when we hope to have 12-16 teams .

Another vid clip from Snapper Shootout

Sometimes you can just be in the right place at the right time with a video camera. Blair Setford managed to get the final out of Jeremy Tracy’s second no-hitter at the 2009 Snapper Shootout, this one against the Wyevale Tribe. Using an editing program, Blair was then able to add some commentary to the clip and produce this highlight. You can watch in standard definition or click the HD button in the bottom right of the video to see in high definition.

The South Perth All Stars will be one of the 8 teams in the 2009 World Fastball Invitational 2009 – July 2 – July 5 in Monkton ON.

On hand are #17 Decatur, IL Pride, #23 Hermann, MO Black Gold and #35 Belleville, IL Stallions (who have already qualified). Unranked, but also looking to qualify among others are Pinckneyville, IL Lee’s Sports Falcons, Villa Grove, IL Log Cabin and Mascoutah, IL Pete’s Blues.
