“Pub Party” program for Live Broadcasts of ISC II Tournament of Champions

Thursday, July 28th, 2005

Pub Parties Planned ’round the country for ISC II Broadcasts

The ISC II broadcast crew has established a “Pub Party” program to encourage local pubs to set up a computer and speakers for patrons to listen to the ISC II live audio broadcasts from Chippewa Falls, WI, August 14-19, 2005.

The program will provide participating pubs with free publicity, both on-the-air and online at an “ISC II Pub Party” webpage which will list the name and address of their pub, and logo or photo. The broadcast crew will also circulate a list of participating pubs, to let local fans know that they can enjoy the broadcasts in the company of good friends while enjoying a cold beverage of their choice.

Participating pubs can also send us a digital photo of the local fans that attend the pub party for posting online.

It’s a great way to generate support for your team from the folks back home that couldn’t make the trip to Chippewa Falls.

All that’s required is a willingness to set up a computer and speakers for the broadcast.

Send us the name of your favorite local pub or one that you think would be interested in hosting an “ISC II Pub Party”, or write to us for more information.

West St. Paul, Minnesota

The IS Knights of Fargo, ND claimed the crown of the 35th Annual West St.
Paul Tournament Sunday evening. Their 7-0 win over the Reasnor (Iowa) RPMs
gave the Knights back-to-back crowns. Heading into the title game,
undefeated Reasnor decided that the game would be “winner take all” game, a
“true” championship, instead of the double elim. format used for the
duration of the tourney as they had work committments to honor back home,
as the title tilt began at 9:31 (originally scheduled for 6:30).

In the championship game, Adam Folkard, the young Aussie fresh off a plane
Saturday nite, pitched his second game for IS. Folkard struck out 18 batters.

The third inning saw Lucas Goring lead off with a bunt that was popped
up. Reasnor’s third basemen dove in fair territory, barely missing the
ball, which then went into foul territory. Goring advanced to second, then
to third on a wild pitch and scored on a past ball.

IS added another run the next inning. Tony Kunka led off with a walk, then
with one out scored on Jason Wandler’s triple.

Kunka led off the sixth frame with a double, advanced to third on a ground
out then scored on Wandler’s ground out.

Bob Fleming led off the IS seventh, reaching on an error. Goring bunted
for a single. Then with one out, John Tschida’s double scored Fleming and
Goring. Tschida advanced to third on an error, then scoring on Kunka’s single.

Line scores for the entire weekend will be posted on Monday, with an
announcement of which at Al’s Fastball.

Host team PBI would like to thank all the teams that participated in this
year’s event. We feel that is was the best tournament field ever, with the
game results proving that. We would also like to thank the fans that
attended this year’s event, despite the rain on Saturday and the heat on
Sunday.

Next year’s event is scheduled for July 21-23.
