2005 Roster & Schedule for JRW & Associates

Wednesday, May 18th, 2005

[Yakima, WA]-In 2005, the JRW & Associates fastpitch team from Yakima, Washington will seek to improve on its 10th place finish at the ISC II Tournament of Champions in Fargo last year.

It was the first year of ISC II competition for this team, which has its roots in a 1979 18 & Under team that finished 5th in National competition. Ace pitcher Dave Drotzman and legendary Mike Trotter return for 2005. Now aware of the toughness of ISC II competition, JRW has added an INF and an OF and two pitchers, to strengthen the roster for the 2005 ToC in Chippewa Falls, WI.

The teams hopes for better luck in the draw. Last years games were played against two teams in the top five and against three teams in the top nineteen.

JRW & Associates has been Yakima City League Champions 3 of the last four years. The exception was a title by the JRW 23U squad, which is also sponsored by Manager Jim Williamson. JRW & Associates was also Champion of the Rainier Travel League in its last year of existence.

The squad also plans to enter the NAFA Class “AA” World Series in Mankato which has a two day overlap at the end of the ToC. With a high finish in Chippewa, the team may have to miss their NAFA opener and start competition in the Loser’s bracket. One player said ” Well, we will have reached the single elimination bracket”.

The Substitutes (2nd Team) with different pitchers will attempt to qualify for the ASA Class “C” Nationals in Stockton over the Labor Day weekend.
