FALCONS!

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Editor’s Note: I told Fred Follings that if the Shakespeare Falcons won Friday night, I would put their logo in the Friday night post, but with no internet access at the motel where we were staying, it didn’t happen. Here it is.

Here’s the final from Aquafest Rice Lake Tournament wrap up. Once again weather dictated an on-again off-again schedule but with just enough time to decide the outcome. We’d like to thank Ronn Kopp, Loren Lathrop and The Rice Lake Cameron Boys Fastpitch League fora well-run tournament. Taking 2nd place with the field that was on hand is encouraging. Our time off is short again as we are headed to Eau Claire, WI this coming weekend. We play Bar of Green Bay The Farm and Albaugh. We also will have Kevin Kammueller. Other participants there are Midwest Stampede Kegal Wilbur Lime and Villard to round out the field.

MAFTL Weekend 2

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Courtesy of the Pennsylvani blogspot:

Travel League Weekend #2
From the MAFTL website:

We were able to get all the games in despite the weather. Games were shortened to 5 innings on Saturday and we didn’t get off the field until 1:30 am Sunday morning. Sunday’s 5 play-off games were played regulation, with the NY Gremlims defeating Keatings 6-2 in the Championship game. The real wiiner of the weekend was the Garrett Park ground crew as they worked effectively dealing with what Mother Nature dumped on us. As soon as I recover from the weekends effects, the website will be updated with all games and highlights.

Thanks,
Tom Vogel

Re-cap – KW Cubs repeat as Canada East ISC II Qualifier Champions

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

On behalf of the ISC, I want to thank Tim Wright, Nate Awde and the Innerkip Eagles along with Innerkip Parks & Rec for hosting this weekend’s qualifier. The entire team did a fantastic job in getting four diamonds ready for play by 1 pm Saturday after torrential rains overnight. Thanks also to Peter Kluszczynski, Doug Cundall and the entire Blue Crew for great work all weekend. More thank you’s to Joe Todd, Doug Bach, Rick Boyd, Jim Marr and Chris Bach for game controlling. A big shout out to Jim Flanagan and Al Doran for getting all of the results posted virtually as they happened. I heard from several people who couldn’t make it in person that it felt like they were there. Lastly, I want to thank the teams, players and fans for supporting the event, for their patience while we revised the schedule due to the rain and for their exemplary play all weekend. Congratulations to the Cubs, Blue Devils & CPI on earning berths to the 2009 ToC – see you in Quad Cities!
Cheers,
Blair
